This is two months late, but I wrote a quick recap on the progress of my New Year’s resolution / 2023 project of reducing my personal car dependency, through the end of March. The writeup, with graphs, is here.

Q1 was a pretty easy time to be doing this. I was spending most of my time in Tucson, which for all its faults offers a fair amount of decent bicycle infrastructure, especially around downtown. And, of course, the winter to early spring is the best time to be riding there, with generally very mild and clear weather. Q2 will be a very mixed bag, as I’ve been traveling between a number of different cities, and hitting pretty much the full span of US car-dependency, from the exurbs of Charlotte, NC to the other end of the spectrum in Manhattan. Check back in July for the next update!
